There are vacancies being advertised across the Trust.  Please see below links to vacancies at St George's First School, Crabbs Cross Academy and Vaynor First School:

Safer Recruitment Statement

Crabbs Cross Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. We expect all staff, volunteers and external applicants to share this commitment. Our recruitment processes follow the principles set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education and include robust pre‑employment checks to ensure that only suitable individuals work within our school community. All roles involving contact with children are subject to enhanced safeguarding scrutiny, and shortlisted candidates will be assessed for their suitability to work with children at every stage of the recruitment process.

Equality Statement

Crabbs Cross Academy celebrates diversity and is committed to providing equal opportunities for all. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, cultures and identities. We strive to create a workplace where every individual feels respected, valued and able to thrive. No applicant or employee will be disadvantaged because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Inclusion Statement

We believe that an inclusive working environment strengthens our school and supports our children to flourish. As part of Endeavour Schools Trust, we aim to ensure that all staff feel a sense of belonging and are empowered to contribute their unique strengths. We actively promote inclusive practice in recruitment, training and support, and we are committed to removing barriers so that all applicants and employees can participate fully in school life.

Pre‑Employment Checks

All appointments are subject to the following pre‑employment checks:

  • Enhanced DBS check, including barred‑list checks where appropriate
  • Verification of identity
  • Right to work in the UK check
  • Verified references, including most recent employer
  • Employment history checks, with any gaps explored
  • Qualifications check, where relevant
  • Medical fitness to work assessment
  • Confirmation of suitability to work with children

These checks reflect safer recruitment expectations set out in current safeguarding guidance, including requirements to consider suitability, training, and performance history for all individuals working with children.

Online Searches (Safer Recruitment Requirement)

In line with current safer recruitment practice, the school will carry out an online search for all shortlisted candidates. This is a screening check designed to identify any publicly available information that may pose a risk to the safety or wellbeing of children or the reputation of the school. Searches are conducted responsibly and proportionately, and any findings are discussed with candidates during the recruitment process. This process aligns with updated expectations for screening individuals working in child‑related settings.
