Year 3/4 (3/4KP) Miss Power
Here you will find a snapshot of our learning in Year 3 and Year 4!
We are scientists!

To begin our Science learning this year, we are investigating how sounds are made and how they change. We discovered sounds are created by vibrations, and we then explored different objects to see which part vibrated.

History detectives!

Our first History unit is taking us back in time to the Victorian era. To begin this learning, we used our deduction skills to predict what we thought the lives of wealthy and poor children were like.

We are really looking forward to our trip to the Black Country Museum at the end of the unit!
Place value practice
In Maths, we have started the year learning about 3-digit numbers. We have extended our knowledge of digit values and explored how we can partition, compare and order 3-digit numbers. Practice identifying numbers at the link below (choose numbers up to 999):
We are also busy learning our times tables ready for our Number Ninjas sessions. You can practice your times tables at Times Tables Rockstars or here:
We're off on a journey ... where will we go?

There was great excitement in our class when we joined the rest of the school, following the arrival of some unusual items in the hall! This led to the discovery of our first focus text, 'Journey' by Aaron Becker. We have been developing our writing skills, focussing on noun phrases, adverbial phrases and using speech marks while writing a sequel to the story.
Welcome back!
The new school year has got off to a flying start with the children in Year 3 and 4 enjoying seeing friends again after the holiday, making new friends and finding out fun facts about Miss Power, Miss Chisholm and Mrs Billingham.
