Year 3 (3KP) Miss Power

Here you will find a snapshot of our learning in Year 3!

Stone Age art

In Art, we explored Stone Age art. To begin, we continued developing our sketching skills using pencils, before using charcoal to create artwork.

We then created our own version of a cave wall by glueing lentils, salt, and rice to a card background. Following this, we made our own paint by mixing flour and water to make a paste and then adding spices to colour the paint. We used these paints on our cave wall backgrounds and then added an animal painting on top.

A trip to the circus!

Roll up! Roll up! The circus came to Key Stage 2! To introduce our focus text 'Leon and the place between', we all received an invitation to the circus. We were wowed by acrobats and jugglers, enjoyed being entertained by the ringmaster and then had the opportunity to try different circus skills - juggling, tightrope walking and performing magic tricks.

TTRockstars!

To celebrate the launch of TT Rockstars for the new year, we all dressed up as rockstars for the day. We had a great time practising times tables with our friends and also spent time on the TTRS website challenging each other and also the teachers!

We are artists!

At the start of the year, we created these fantastic self-portraits of ourselves! We used mirrors to look closely at our facial features to complete our sketches and afterwards, we really enjoyed identifying who was who based off our drawings.
