English
Our first text this year is called Journey by Aaron Becker. It is a wordless picture book which follows a girl who draws a magic door and embarks on an adventure. We will be writing a sequel to the story in our writing lessons.
Maths
We are beginning the year by looking at the place value of 3-digit numbers.

History
In History this half-term, we are looking at how children's lives have changed since Victorian times. We are going to use historical sources to explore how life was different for wealthy and poor children.
Science
As scientists this half-term, we are going to be investigating sound. We are going to explore how sound travels through a medium, factors impacting volume and pitch and everyday uses of sound.
PE
PE will be taught on Tuesdays. We will be doing gymnastics.
On Thursday, we will be going to Forest School.
Art
In Art, we have learnt about the artist Magdalene Odundo. She is known for her work in clay and glass. Magdalene Odundo uses drawing as preparation for her ceramic work. Inspired by the artist, we created a 2D representation of a 3D object.
