Welcome to Year 4
The teaching staff in Year 4 include: Miss Daplyn, Mrs Marston, Mrs Priestley, Mr Edbrooke, Mrs Slack and Mrs Prewitt.
If, over the year, you have any concerns or you wish to speak to us at any time, please contact the school office or the MyEd app.
During the Autumn term PE will be done on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure that your child comes to school on those days wearing their full PE Kit, including trainers. Also, as the weather gets colder, please make sure that your child has jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt for outdoor PE. For any children wearing earrings, please either ensure your child does not wear earrings on these days, or that they hand a named box of ear tape to their teacher so they can cover their own earrings.
Children complete a Number Ninja test every Wednesday. The test involves the children answering multiplication and division questions against the clock. Your child should know which level they are currently working on.
Home Reading books
Home reading books will be sent home on Mondays and are required to be returned to school on Thursdays.
Homework and Spellings - none currently being set (to be reviewed at October half term)
At the start of each half term, a homework grid will be sent home in the children's homework book. The grid will contain a selection of maths, literacy and topic tasks. Each week, the children should select one task to complete. Homework should be handed in by the following Thursday unless otherwise stated on the sheet, as some homework may be given longer to complete.
There are 105 words that the children need to learn before they leave Year 4. These will be tested termly. Each week, we will be sending home ten spellings from the list for your child to practise.
