Governors
The Governing Body is a group of volunteers who represent the school. They are drawn from the parents of Crabbs Cross Academy, some staff members, and people with skills or interests from the local community. Their role is to give a strategic overview to the work of the school providing a 'critical friend' to ensure that the school is achieving the very best it can for each and every pupil.
Governors have to be held accountable to the school stakeholders (e.g pupils, parents, staff and the local community) and typically serve a minimum 4 year term of office.
The Governing Body aims to be as informed as possible, so please do to talk to any of the Governing Body if you have a question, they will be only too pleased to answer it for you or to help you find out the answer. Parent Governors are often on the playground during the school week for you to talk to, or you can contact Governors via the school office.
Responsibilities that Governors have include:
Ensuring educational standards are high
Ensuring that pupils respect each other, adults and the environment
Maintaining the building and its environment
Providing 'best value‘ with funds
Staffing
One of the roles of the Governing Body is to set policies. All policies can be viewed via the school office on request and can be found on our website.
